ok so after goose and me spending the day working by lamp light, scratching our heads and turning the air blue we had most the wiring done. the majority of connections on my trike are hidden behind my headlamp which was ok because goose put it back together before leaving. BUT a few days later i removed the headlamp to check something only to discover that unlike goose i dont posses magic fingers. i couldnt get all the wires back in behind my lamp! so i had to tidy it up a bit to make it fit. it look like this

my new trike project

so being as i didnt have a fag packet to work on ,coz i dont smoke, i grabbed an envolope and bit of card from some deliveries and worked out what to do  Grin

my new trike project

purchased some of these in various colours and wired them up

till i ended up with this loom and wired the other ends of the connectors on the trike. the loose ends were to fit on spade connects to go onto things like horns/flasher units etc.

now if i need to remove my bars or anything to work on i simply disconnect it then reconnect the loom to the right colours. greens my main loom in, red feeds my speedo and yellow comes from my light switches on my bars. the back of the headlamp fits into the middle of the loom so that all the cable goes nicely round the outside and my sausage fingers can fit the lamp back in  Wink

I think it's worth pointing out that drilling a hole big enough to take the wiring as you have done, could seriously weaken normal handlebars.

yes ON is right, i wouldnt try this on normal bars. i have made mine from erw gas pipe that is 1 3/8" diameter with about a 3.8mm wall so i am hoping this will be ok
