next job was to mount the brake callipers i used vw golf callipers and carriers with BMW 3 series front 5 stud disks.I had to turn the disks down in size to math the size of a vw golf disk that meant turning the diameter as well as the thickness of them

i cut a 6mm plate out to mountn the carriers on it also doubles up to hold the bearing in the axle
then it was a case of bolting it all together

Don't you just hate clever people!
Very tidy Mr Mouse.
I haven't forgotten the write ups on your Pops by the way -still chasing Yoda to add them to the site. I plan to visit him in a week or two so hope to be able to learn at the master's feet while I'm there. Wink

yep excellent work mouse . i tried turning down the faces of a pair of capri twin vented discs before and it never went to plan , i was told later i needed an attachment that wouild allow both sides of the disc to be machined at once to keep them dead true or youll get a wobbly pedal as the two faces will be slightly off from one another . dont know if that helps in anyway nut judging from your last photo all you have to do is attach it to the two pipes sticking out of the yellow machine and hey presto . keep up the good work  Grin

Very tidy Mr Mouse. Can't fault your workmanship & the results look spot on. Red oxide's a bold choice of colour -it'll look like a motorised baked bean!
