I agree with Mr T, but can't quite understand just how you could push the splined drive end through the planet wheel? Morrag

Ok enough its enough, had a play last night and still the same issue,

The axel is welded into the frame so I cant take it apart without cutting into the frame,

As we have drained the oil when we removed the half shafts would this be the issue?
(personaly I dont think it is)

Untill we can get this sorted the whole project is at a stand still,
Is there a reliant garrage or specialist in the south that anyone knows of that we can contact or take the frame to

thanks in advance

Going to pend tomorrow working on the trike again tomorrow,

If I cant get the rear axel sorted tomorrow i'm about ready to give up,

I'm thinking if I move the bearing 1cm towards the end of the hub it should work, (I hope)
Dose the bearing need to rest on the coller?

how do you move the bearing along the half shaft?

thanks in advance

the bearing should be pushed up to the lip on half shaft. you can see the lip on the bottom picture to the right of the bearing it will not push on any more.the collar sit along side the bearing witch then fits into the axle. photos of your half shafts with bearings on might help.are your half shaft the same length

The trike is at a friends so I cant get any pix, Pain I know
Yer the halfshafts are the same length, if I can move the colour it could solve all my problems

Taking of pix I opened up the rocker cover on one of my engines, and there were some bits loose and broken in there

Can anyone let me know what this is (apart from broken)

Yup, hard to tell the size from your pics, but looks like a valve stem seal. They go in as fairly soft rubber, but after exposure to heat & oil, come out as hard plasticky stuff. They don't normally do any damage when they break up, but obviously your engine will start smoking once they've gone cos oil from the rockers can make it's way down through the valves into the combustion chamber. Quite cheap to replace & a simple enough job to do.
