exelent progress mate but i have to ask,have you turned the gas on ,on yer welder as some of the joints look dry.

When it was finally taking shape, i could see where i needed to cut to get the front and rear halfs the same length.

Yep gas is on, because i`m only tacking, i`m working with one of those disposable cylinders and as we all know, they are barely up to the job, and not helped by the fact i have the door open, but all the final welds will be done once i connect the large cylinder.

but eventually it all came together and the back is now tacked in too. And thats that, as mentioned above, i need to fully weld it then clean it up a touch.......

That's very tidy TB. What's the new pipe from? Is that a pre-formed 90 degree bend?
Just shows what can be done with simple hand tools eh.

Its not the tools that are simple, just the guy using them  Grin.
I`m not sure what the pipe`s exact original use was, i got it from a guy that was fitting out a shop, it`s got a black coating of something over it that is hiding stainless steel.
Yep the bend was pre formed, its half a mill smaller ID than the standard reliant pipe, so should do me nicely.

Thats what its all about, If you cant buy it, you gotta make it  Grin.
Just one last point to add, and that is....watch your ground clearance, If i was to do another one, i`d raise the collector box by an inch & half or so.  Wink
