Hi Rod
When the engine is running & up to temp if i try to open the rad cap it releases steam pressure, the rotor arm is new, this is the kit i got
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181148279268?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The engine misfires wether it is cold or hot it doesn`t seem to make a difference to engine temp, also new temp sender unit.

Hi Rod
I have used unleaded since i got it last may 2014, but i am suspicious as a new bottle of lead additive was in the side box so i think it should be leaded, i do have the lead diamond blocks to go in the tank but not sure if i should use them as i was told it had been rebuilt ( engine that is ).

Try running it in the dark, as I said.Ive had cars giving a light show un der the bonnet! I dont like carbon leads, others love them though.
Crazy thought ..is the dizzy cap seating correctly to the dizzy body? I had one that didnt, caused intermittent probs.
on another forum recently, the problem was the tiny earth wire to the points insidethe dizzy.also check the main engine earthwire is good.

Hi Rod
The leads are a lot thinner than the original ones so i think they would be carbon, i will run it tonight when its dark in the garage to see if i got a light show around the engine.
yes i made sure the dizzy cap is seated firmly as a mate said about that.
Ok i will make sure its a good earth from the engine to the frame, the dizzy has electronic ignition & the earth wire is attached to the dizzy body & coil solid connection.
Thank you for all your help & advice guys, really appreciate it.

Hi Rod
This is the elec ign i got with no rotor arm,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311049682509?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
The original arm was black & according to the instructions it should be a red one which i have fitted, no i haven`t tried a new set of points, surely if the module was duff it wouldn`t give a spark at the plugs which it does, quite bright spark i also have the plug testers here
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171689611692?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
&each plug shows a bright spark.
Do you know what the difference is between them, Also she starts at the flick of the key if that helps.

Swap no 1 and 4 plugs over and see what changes. the plug lead tester only show your getting KV to the spark plug, not the spark at the plug
