allways feel like that mm when our summer season slows off. hectic to nowt in a few weeks. takes a few weeks to get motivated again. must be wierd when you were on a deadline with your build then get the breather. feel like a lost soul..

Title: Re: whos at what this weekend
Post by: Manky Monkey on October 15, 2011, 01:48:36 PM
Yeah, as you say, not motivated to do much. Loads of decorating to do, but can't be arsed, so pottering about, doing a bit of housework, tidying the garden etc. A lot of my workmates don't have any real hobbies. They might watch football on the telly, but that's about it. Must be s-o-o boring.

I'm going to take photos of my daughter and her club the Purbeck Runners racing tomorrow in the 'Studland Stampede' - probably get some nice seascapes as well.   Got to be there at 09.30 - think I'll need my thermals!

I did notice the fluent french conversations that were taking place, he might have been telling the french "I`ve done the dirty work for you the rest is up to you". All refereeing should be done in english I think. Very suspect...................I`m not bitter!!!!!..........Just can`t let it go yet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

I'm off to Moira which is in Derbyshire or Leicestershire or Staffordshire depending on where you're looking, for a meet with some of the Round Britain Rally folks.  It's a camping job but I'm only going cos I've been promised I can sleep in a heated awning attached to someone else's campervan - and cos the forecast says it's going to be somewhat warmer than at present!

Chevy Rick and I went to Heathrow for the Jukebox Show. Not run by the same people that ran the Kempton show. Nor the Brighton show (I think). £8:50 to get in so with that and fuel, not a cheap day out. The venue was the Thistle Hotel, but the layout was cramped on the whole with only one big room dedicated to just stalls.  Not that many punters but just as well because no-one would have been able to move otherwise.
One room was for the bands but everything was delayed with the excuse that the first person up was not there but when he eventually came on, he was a chap who had been there for ages! The DJ was crap and was so bad, Rick heckled him.

I saw one of the organisers later and I said how disappointing it was especially for the money. He said it was the first and the next one should be better. I said people would not bother next time.

They had also encouraged period cars to turn up, giving those who registered two free tickets. Not much good for us because the fuel bill at about 20-25 mpg would have cost us more anyway. Some tasty vehicles turned up but the organisers hadn't really allowed for a dedicated parking area for them and some of them had to squeeze in next to the normal cars and for some of those giants, I do mean squeeze!

Hey Ho. Day wasn't completely screwed though, we called in to see Colboy and Colboys Chick (fellow Mankies) on the way home.

I am now watching the Rugby final I taped. Come on All Blacks.

JJ  :)

Taz & I have been at our local village Remembrance Day service this morning. For our readers from foreign climes, it's the annual commemorative day for all those who've died in Britain's many wars.
Neither of us is religeous in any way, but Taz is a volunteer standard bearer for the local branch of the British Legion, which heads up the veterans' march through the village for the service at the church.
I always get roped into wearing a dayglo vest over my suit & helping to slow the traffic. West Clandon is on the route between two major roads, as well as having a local beauty spot which is popular with bikers & vintage car drivers, so even on Sundays, it's a busy road.
A gorgeous Autumnal morning here in Surrey, so it was nice to walk in sunshine, instead of last year's heavy rain. Tazet's nearest the camera.

As well as the church, they stop at several points along the way to lay wreaths. Fortunately the Sunday morning drivers are quite patient.
Taz's employers, Lord & Lady Onslow & their daughter, are nearest the camera.

The party have to cross the busy road to visit the local grave yard. I had to stop this beauty, on it's way to the vehicle meet at Newlands Corner, while they crossed. Cadillac?

Last stop was to lay a wreath under the plaque listing the village's war dead, outside the British Legion hall. Then we adjourned to the hall for lunch.
As I said, we're not religeous or connected to the armed forces in any way, but it's just nice to do our bit for the local community.

Tazet works 7 days a week, running a busy stable yard at the Clandon Park estate, so we rarely get to go out anywhere together. Today was her first day off for several months. Had to grab a photo together, just to prove she's not a figment of my imagination.
Tazet & Manky, overlooking the Clandon estate where we live.
