Don't know if it's just me but with a reliant engine trike I find myself constantly short shifting. That is to say I change up the gears far too early while accelerating, probably @ about 2500rpm. Huh
This may be because the last three bikes I've had have all been V twins and those previous were either singles or parallel twins.
In a car I will happily use all available revs but my brain seems to expect the trike to sound like a twin and I react accordingly. Roll Eyes

They are quite a revvy engine & with larger than standard diameter rear wheels, you end up with 3 good gears with 4th as a sort of overdrive for motorways. I always found they seemed to like being worked hard -as one's servants do.  Tongue
