Haven't heard of that, but I did take one of the front discs off my trike because I wanted the rear brakes to be more efficient than the fronts, otherwise the front would lock up & you'd lose the steering. Haven't put it through the MSVA yet though.

im sure someone on here or nabd told me you need to disconect one brake line from the front to link to the rear for the msva if operating of one lever or pedal
I never did anything like that the only thing i had to take off was one of the wheel nuts

Did not really say why but think it was to look at how much thread poked through the wheel and the taper was the right one for the wheel but i could be completely wrong

Ahh right. I had to change the wheel nuts on my truck because they were the wrong taper.

when i used to MOT cars i had to check wheel nut and stud type and lenth a few time,s as we had a update fax from VOSA about vehicle,s with aftermarket alloys fitted and some fords were recallad as the alloy wheels were fitted by the dealer at point of sale and the nuts were changed for the correct one,s but the studs were short ,

Maybe my memory is failing, I thought I remembered something about needing secondary braking systems, which was met if the front and rears were separate. This is from th MSVA manual, which i'm not sure I understand anyway!
B,C and E are an acceptable combination for a motorcycle trike,
A,B,C are required for all other trikes.
So It looks like I was wrong and this covers it ?

3. Check that every motorcycle tricycle or motorcycle quadricycle is equipped with either;
a) two independent service braking devices fitted, one acting on the front axle/one acting on the rear axle which together operate the brakes on all the wheels
or
b) a single line service braking device that operates the brakes on all wheels
and
c) a secondary (emergency) braking device ( that may be the parking brake)
or
d) a dual/tandem service braking device which operates the brakes on all wheels
and in addition to any of the above
e) a parking brake device that operates on the wheels of at least one axle
Acceptable combinations are: a) & e) or b),c) & e) or d) & e)
4. Check that every other tricycle or quadricycle is equipped with;
a) a foot controlled service brake device, that operates on all wheels
b) a secondary (emergency) brake device (that may be the parking
brake), and
c) a parking brake device, that operates on the wheels of at least one axle
