Can’t remember where I git to with this. I started the handle the other side and managed to put it in lower even though I carefully measured a lot. We’ll come back to that another day.
Petes been working on the door top on this side and it’s going really well. I need to put in some door guts to stiffen it up a bit so he can finish it. This means making the nuts that hold the door to the hinge captive and what a mare it’s been.
Bolts originally were m6 and nuts to correspond on the inside were too. The weld would get so hot it would essentially melt the Nut but not penetrate enough into the strengthener. So first 2 attempts caused the nuts to break and spin off. 3rd attempt got the nuts stuck on solid, but undoing the bolts they all snapped so I had to drop the door and cut them all off.
So while the door was off I drilled it all out to m8 as we have weld in captives on the shelf in that size. All bolted up ready to hopefully trouble free weld in tomorrow.
