 A david brown 780 880 would be a good tractor to convert the engine tomb would be easy to cut out to sit the other engine inside cut some 1/4 plate longer sump bolts centre it with spacers as long as the car flywheel is big enough to take the tractor cover its drill and tap the cover bolts and dowel pins. By then its well on the way.

Blimey them old 3.9s 6s  i fitted on of them in a series 1 swb 80 inch  ;D ;D no overdrive it did about 44mph screaming man i hate landrovers and the series 1s are the best one .

i put a volvo TD 40A out of the power unit of a swedish estair road sweeper into a l/rover 100 hi-cap ,, she made a good tool   ;)   ;D ;D

 I always fancied a 101 never even been in one like are they as bad or worse than normal landrovers?

you really need to drive a standard one,,
then one with say a mazda/perky conversion.
then way up the performance.
then the fuel (standard ex-millitry v8 =6 to 8 mpg) mazzy  23 to 28 +

then theres the comfort ,,or lack of

THEN DECIDE,, :D :D
