Title: Blackbushe airport Festival of flight 2nd July '17
Post by: Manky Monkey on April 16, 2017, 10:02:50 AM
For those in the Hampshire area, this might be worth a look.
Only 15 minutes away for me.
Blackbushe airport was a drag racing venue back in the 60s & 70s -my first experience of watching drags was there in the late 70s.
It's celebrating 75 years as an airport though with a day of flying & static displays. Personally, I think it'll be worth going to just to see the fly-by of the Lancaster & Dakota. There'll also be a Chinnook display, (they're based at Odiham, about 10 miles away), & Army flying school helicopters which I assume will be from Middle Wallop in Wiltshire, where Clive works, as well as a fly by of the new Boeing Airbus, which has components in it built by Janie, who works a few miles away at Farnborough airport.
Live music, food etc too.
Could be an interesting day.
