Title: Re: A very short cruise Post by: Baychimp on September 15, 2017, 11:23:21 PM Eureka! Thats the first time I have ever sucessfully post pictures on this site. I'll try a few more. As I was picking up my son from London City Airport I got there a bit early, so I found what must be the only bit of free parking in the capital right next to the ferry. Mrs Baychimp and myself then went for a walk along the Thames. Right by the ferry is the old Woolwich foot tunnel so we popped down for a quick look.

Title: Re: A very short cruise Post by: Baychimp on September 15, 2017, 11:31:32 PM We walked about halfway down then got a bit bored,as we didn't need to go to the otherside we turned round and came back. ;D ;D
Title: Re: A very short cruise Post by: JayJay on September 17, 2017, 04:08:02 PM Didn't know a tunnel like that existed.

My Dad was London born too, (Battersea), & used to take us on day trips around the city when we were kids. He'd worked all over London as a surveyor for the council & knew all sorts of interesting places like this. He could tell us a little bit of history about almost every street. Wish I'd paid more attention.
