A vintage Route Master bus parked outside the Royal Mail depot I work in this afternoon. Absolutely no idea why.

Iconic buses. My brother did his mechanics apprenticeship years ago on them! Used to let me drive them round the bus station at the weekend

My school days involved buses like those. I think they got rid of the conductors about 1976/77 in the Midlands. I seem to remember coming home from the States and wondering what I had done wrong when the driver stopped me from just walking past him to a seat. Very new fangled and from then on it was always about making sure you had the right change.
