Title: Brazing
Post by: klogan45 on September 08, 2008, 07:20:28 PM
I'm having a little trouble finding someone in Torquay who can modify the exhaust on the 535. The is place in paignton but I'd have to get the trike there. I don't have a trailer or towbar :'( The piece that needs to be altered is the bit that goes from the cylinder to the collector box.
The questions are ... could this be brazed?
Now I know that the heat needed for brazing is less than that needed for welding.
The next question is ... would the pipe get hot enough, in service, to melt my lovely brazing?
I have done a bit of brazing in the past but don't have my own oxy-acetylene kit.
The final question is this ... can I use anything else to get the piece hot enough to braze with out oxy-acetylene kit.
Thanks for the help
Regards
K
