I've got skinny crossplies all round on the Pop, mainly for the vintage look. They're fine as long as you know their limitations -not much grip so longer braking distances, more careful cornering & no high speed motorway driving in the rain.

Agreed. In the 70s, I ran crossplys on a pinto engined, Mk1 Cortina. Highly entertaining on wet roundabouts. You really have to decide what you want the vehicle to look like as well as it's usage. Unless you have got to the wings stage, I would concentrate on getting the body finished, before laying out cash on tyres, so you have more of an idea of the overall look.

Very intriguing build you've got going here sir,..have you any idea how your going to do the front end or will you leave it exposed in some way ? I think keep skinnies on the front but not crossplys ?

Nice to be able to stand back & have a good look at it Chris. Love the scuttle/cowl -could you maybe radius some of the other corners in the same way to make it a little less boxy? (the back corners of the cab, gutter rails & perhaps add a curved sill panel under the doors?)
