Still watching the ebay engine that Shabby sent the link for above. It's at £270 at the moment with just over a day to go. it it worth putting a bid in for it?

Oh well out bid again. This one went for a huge £921.25. It went from £671.50 up to that price in the last 40 seconds. Never mind someone obviously wanted it more than us. Next.

to be honest that's only a shade over my guess, a running motor alone will weigh five to seven hundred. Still, one man's credit crunch is another girls window of opportunity, they are like buses ( and not just the size) there'll be another along in a minute.

Grin Yes one will. I'm in no hurry as I haven't even got a car to put it in yet anyway. I'll just wait for the next one to show up. I have to be sensible and if I can get a running one for cheeper than what it would cost to get mine running then that's a bonus. We've agreed on going no heigher than £650 for a working engine.

We've got a 383 already!
Personally, I reckon we'd be better off spending the cash rebuilding the one we've got & knowing it's a good engine, than buying an unknown one from Ebay even if it's bigger. The 383's 6 1/4 litre -just how big do you need?!
