CX500 Trike

Mouse’s CX500 trike.
This is my first trike build. I started it in Sept 05 and got my first MOT in May 06. She passed the MOT with flying colours and because I’m disabled I didn’t need to get an MSVA, just had to take my trike to the local DVLA office and get it checked over. As you can see from the title the bulk of the trike is Honda CX500 -not everyones choice, but for a budget trike build they’re ideal. There’s plenty of cheap spares to be had from EBay and they’re a doddle to work on. The axle is from a Reliant with the original drum brakes and a shortened prop shaft. The wheels are 15inch taken from a Vauxhall Tigra. The top and side boxes are from a Honda Goldwing GL1500. I bought the seat from EBay USA and got a mega shock when the delivery company stood on my door step demanding I paid 60 quid in import duty. If I didn’t pay it they would take my seat back .That turned out to be a very expensive buy! I did all the work on the trike, including the paint with 2 pac paint, which was a first for me. I was a bit concerned about the cyanide contained in the paint but I’m still here to tell the story.
