This was on from the 19th – 21st June if you booked in advance it cost 30 quid. For this you got camping for 2 night’s entry into the Beaulieu attractions and the Saturday night entertainment.
Friday was putting up the tent and doing as little as possible. There was a BBQ and DJ on in the evening, the music was in keeping with the event. None of this boom, boom, boom rubbish.
Saturday was the cruise. This was planned to leave about 11ish in the morning, to be proceeded by a Cacklefest courtesy of the Wild Bunch Dragsters. After they left it was time to do whatever you felt like doing. There was a nice little display of Airstream caravans. The evening entertainment was very good. We were entertained by a Beach Boys tribute band called Beach Boys Smile. Close yer eyes and you’d think it was the Beach Boys.
Sunday started early as it came over the tannoy that they wanted us to start parking up from 8, this was so that vehicles on site would be in position before the gates were opened to the public. I got in early to the arena. As the day progressed more and more cars turned up. All sorts arrived. There were 3 Triumphs at the event, the white mk2 with the V8, a nice looking TR5 with yes, you guessed a V8, then there was little old me with the rat PI. Mine wasn’t the only rat car!
