Farnham classic & vintage car show

11th April 2010

The 2010 Farnham Classic and Vintage Car Show was held at the central car park in Farnham, Surrey.
I’ve always arrived at previous shows earlier in the day but as we’d just come from Dorking Harley Jumble, called in at Newland's Corner bike gathering, stopped off at the honorable Manky residence, (we knew nobody was home because the flag wasn't flying and we’d seen them at Dorking), and then visited Colboys Chick's residence, time was creeping on; so a large number of the exhibitors were already returning home for their Sunday roast.
Still, it was a good turnout with some very nice vehicles on show.  Basil was there on his Chevy trike along with his Manky friend Jacko -also on his VW trike. There was a good turn out of army vehicles along with plenty of military artifacts. The event was held in support of the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice who seemed to be getting the support they needed. They provided a tasty cake stall so JJ and I partook of their rather nice home-made cheese scones and Bakewell tart. Very tasty, washed down with a fine cuppa.
As it’d been all day, the weather was bright to the end and this encouraged many visitors to enjoy the show and make the most of the small jumble section on offer. A very nice little show & a good way to round off a hectic, but very enjoyable day.
